PLACE OF WORK:                        Remote, with the occasional requirement to attend our office in Lewes, East Sussex

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:       To uphold the quality standard of our award by working alongside our assessors and our EQA.

HOURS:                                         12 hours per week to be agreed and to meet the needs of the Organisation.

HOURLY RATE:                         £14 – £15 per hour (based on experience)



LWDW Training Ltd, is a not for profit operating under the brand name Living Well Dying Well (LWDW). It’s aim is to bring change to societies’ attitude to and experience of, death and dying. The organisation offers education, awareness raising, training and end of life support. LWDW aims to improve the quality of life for everyone, whatever age, nationality or background, and to promote a society that is better prepared and supported to meet death when it arrives. We take an integrated approach in meeting physical, psychological, social, spiritual and cultural needs of people at the end of life and their families. We are seeking an Internal Quality Assurer to equip the organisation to be able to make impartial and informed judgement regarding the practice and decisions made by the assessment team to maintain the awards standards.  Additionally, this role will work alongside the Head of Learning to promote standardised assessment and teaching across the organisation which is comprehensive, suitable and inclusive.

This role benefits from flexibility, with the opportunity for remote working.  Individuals who are working towards an Internal Quality Assurance qualification will be considered, and additional training opportunities will be available.

This will be a self employed role.

  • To ensure that all assessors are trained in line with the relevant codes of practices
  • To identify future training needs of assessors and feedback to the Head of Learning
  • Ensure that all assessors are fully briefed to carry out their roles appropriately
  • Perform regular IQA assessments of assessors and leaners work at different stages of the programme delivery, including assessed sample units.
  • Be the main point of contact for the centres EQA, providing regular feedback and responding to the awarding body requests.
  • Keep accurate records of learners assessments in line with our data retention policy
  • With the Head of Learning, conduct regular standardisation meetings, providing constructive feedback to assessors and trainers

You will need to be able to demonstrate the ability create and promote a work environment which supports openness, inclusion, transparency and integrity throughout the organisation; where teamwork is encourage, innovation is stimulated and where every individual’s potential is maximised.

  • A professional IQA qualification (or working towards)
  • Previous experience in teaching or adult learning environment
  • At least 12 months experience in an IQA role
  • Impeccable organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to provide constructive feedback which encourages a motivational and respectful atmosphere of self-improvement.
  • The ability to self-manage and be willing to be directed.
  • Has the ability to be self-reflective and have a personal commitment to human or spiritual values and on-going personal development.
  • To share in the values of LWDW
  • A UK Driving license
