Overall responsibilities:          To support the Head of Learning

Hours:                                               15 – 20 hours per week over 5 days.

Starting salary:                             £26,000 – £29,000 (FTE), based on experience


About the role

We are seeking a Personal Assistant to support our Head of Learning in their day to day activities to allow for the smooth and efficient running of the department.  You will take the lead in arranging and supporting monthly and annual commitments, as well as ad hoc meetings and administration duties.


You will have the opportunity to work alongside our experienced training team and Head of Learning to enhance the learning experience of each learner, keeping the learner at the heart of everything you do. Main duties & responsibilities

  • Handling and responding to correspondence including phone calls, emails and letters
  • Scheduling appointments and organising diary entries
  • Setting reminders for meetings, appointments and other important tasks
  • Making travel and hotel arrangements
  • Planning conferences, workshops, seminars and other events
  • Taking notes at meetings, preparing the minutes and subsequently distributing to all participants
  • Liaising with other team members and external parties
  • Preparing reports and maintaining a filing system
  • To be a point of contact for general trainer queries.
  • Communicating with trainers and assessors.
  • Support with managing trainer development, reviews and contracts and ensuring deadlines are met and managed within LWDW policies.
  • Administration duties to ensure records are kept up to date and relevant.
  • To promote equality and inclusion.

Person specification

You will be a meticulous planner and organiser, forward thinking and pro-active at all times, demonstrating a can-do and flexible attitude to your work.  You will need to be able to prioritise effectively and thrive in a high paced working environment which encourages autonomy and responsibility.  As an experience multi-tasker you will be able to respond to completing a broad scope of work interchangeably, whilst maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.


You will need to be able to demonstration the ability to create and promote a work environment which supports openness, inclusion, transparency and integrity throughout the organisation; where teamwork is encouraged, innovation is stimulated and where every individual’s potential is maximised.

  • To have been awarded Foundation Course Certificate from LWDW Training.
  • Experience in Training, Education and/or Adult Education sector.
  • To be familiar with Foundation and Diploma Course work
  • Has the ability to be self-reflective and have a personal commitment to human and/or spiritual values and on-going personal development.
  • To share the values of Living Well Dying Well.




Remote working with occasional trips into the office when required
