Progression to Diploma

Find out how you can progress to the diploma after taking the foundation course.

Progression to Diploma

Following the introductory Foundation course, in order to progress to the full Diploma (Modules 1 - 4) in the Living Well Dying Well Person-Centred Approach to Death and Dying, you will be required to successfully complete a Progression Assignment before applying to continue onto the End of Life Doula Diploma Training.

The assignment consists of a short ‘case study’ scenario with personal reflections.  This is designed to provide evidence of learning and understanding from your Foundation course, as well as your preparedness for the next part of the programme.  Towards the end of the Foundation course, your trainer will outline the rest of the programme.

A member of the team will contact you after completing the Foundation to check whether you would like to express an interest in going forward.  You will be supported throughout the assignment process by an allocated assessor.

We don’t expect everyone to progress, many people find the Foundation gives them sufficient confidence to support family members for example.  It is also possible to defer your progression on to the Diploma for up to 2 years.
