I’m thinking about joining an online course

Our online courses are incredibly popular, and we have seen a rising demand for our weekday, weekend and evening courses.

If you would like to join one of our courses and you’re looking to fit it in around work, an international time zone or other commitments in your life then our online courses could be a great option for you.

LWDW has a rolling annual schedule of course dates and we release new dates regularly. Please see here for dates.

What equipment will I need to join an online course?

  • Technical Basics

    • Your own pen and notebook
    • A computer/laptop/mac/tablet. We advise not to use phones as the screen is often not large enough.
    • A stable internet connection
    • Access to a printer to print your course handouts

  • About your computer

    • Microphone (can be a built-in microphone)
    • Webcam (can be built-in webcam)
    • Speakers or headphones. We recommend using a headset for improved sound quality for learners who may have difficulty hearing.

We ask that you choose a comfortable and safe location to undertake the training, preferably in a room where you will not be disturbed by others and in an environment where you feel secure to discuss the course material.

This training is not suitable to be taken in public locations, whilst travelling, or in environments where you can become easily distracted.

Please be respectful of all the members of the group by being able to provide your full focus.

I’m enrolled on an online course – what do I need to know?

Online Course Information

Accessing Zoom

If you have chosen to join an online course, your sessions will be delivered over Zoom. You don’t need to worry about finding the link before each session.

All you need to do is go to your virtual classroom and click on the ‘Zoom Link’ button. This will take you straight into your session.

For more detailed tips and guidance on using Zoom, please download our Zoom tips for Participants PDF.

Meet & Greet Sessions

In advance of your first online session, you will be invited to an optional online Meet & Greet session a few days before your course starts. This is an excellent opportunity to test your Zoom connection, as well providing the chance to meet your trainers and the rest of your group. This introductory online session has proved to be invaluable to all our learners; those who are new to Zoom as well as those who may be very experienced with online learning.

The Meet & Greet session will cover:

  • A short introduction to the course
  • LWDW guidelines on our Zoom protocols
  • How to contact the office and trainers
  • Where to locate the pre-course and session materials on the Virtual Classroom
  • What you need to bring with you to your sessions
Arrival Times

For all online sessions please ensure you arrive in good time. The course trainers will open up the ‘Coffee Bar’ 15 minutes prior to the start time to allow people to settle in and ask any questions.

If you have any questions about our online courses, please feel free to contact the office on info@livingwelldyingwell.net.
